The actual composition of the band is : Johan Plomp - bass, Robert Jan Vermeulen - piano, Joost Kesselaar - drums, Simon Rigter, tenorsaxophone and Loet van der Lee - trumpet/flugelhorn.
The Loet van der Lee Quartet was founded in 1992 and has performed in several countries throughout the world. Through the years the individual members and the band as a whole have musically grown. An own specific style and sound has developed. The band sounds solid and energetic. Warm melancholic sounds alternated with hard melodic lines contributed to a style with a fresh character. Although all the band members have reached full musical maturity, we are happy to be vulnerable when we explore our further possibilities.
The 'Loet van der Lee quartet has a passion for performing that knows no limits, they jam with audiences of all sizes. Lively and energetic music which is clearly there own. The result is to be heard on all the albums.
