SWING Foundation

In November 2006 Loet became the new director of the SWING foundation.

SWING is a modest, private foundation with 6 employees in The Netherlands, state-endowed by the Ministry of Culture and Education and was founded on 11-05-1981. The main goals are education and promotion of improvised music. Through workshops in schools, youth centre, youth orchestras, conservatories and during festivals, people are brought together to create music without any preliminary thresholds formed by pre-expected skills such as stave reading. At this moment the foundation boosts almost 40 workshops from all categories: jazz, pop, rock, Afro -, Latin -, Australian - and Ireland oriented world music, Western classical music, cross-over and fusion, folk, brass band, rap, hip-hop, turntable, and many more.

The leading role of Stichting SWING in Dutch improvisational music for educational purposes is unquestionable. For more than twenty years ten to thousands of kids and adults have participated in workshops for a shorter or longer period. Our expertise in teaching music without expecting preliminary theoretical knowledge or instrumental skills is immense.

Comities and judging's

In Line with his Big band work Loet act's frequently as judge at big band festivals and contests such as;
the National Big Band Concourse at Hoofddorp (4 editions)
Dutch Jazz Competition
Big Blast Festival (2 editions)
Seabreese Bigband Festival
Big Band festival Alkmaar.

In line of the policy work for the SWING foundation Loet has been asked to attend comities for other foundations and organizations such as:

In line with his educational work Loet has been askt to act as outside judge on several final exams at:
Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht (Conservatorium Utrecht)
Prins Claus Conservatorium (Conservatorium Groningen).

In 2009 Loet finished his book 'Jazzworkshop', playing and studying jazz
It is a publication about jazz playing and studying in general and playing the trumpet in particular and is not jet published.
